Robert Simurda

Senior Litigation Advisor

Robert Simurda has worked for a major U.S auto and casualty insurer for over 29 years.

He started his career as an adjuster in Kingston, Ontario in 1986. He was then promoted to Ottawa, Ontario as a Team Manager in 1995, and again to Aurora, Ontario in 2011, as a Section Manager.

The majority of his experiences have been involved with claim leadership at both team and section levels, overseeing the development, handling, and disposition of claims involving litigation throughout Ontario and Alberta. He has had considerable involvement with the supervision of insurance cases through to trial verdict, and understands the fundamentals necessary for trial success.

Robert has also worked extensively on corporate reviews, specifically development with claim employees, changes involving major restructuring, and efficiency reviews. With this experience, Robert has a solid and unique understanding of the insurance and associated industries, particularly in the areas of civil litigation and claim’s process.

While in Ottawa, he was elected president of the Canadian Insurance Managers’ Claims Association, a position that he held for eight consecutive years.

In 2000/2001, he was elected President of the National Directorate of the Canadian Managers’ Claims Association.

He obtained a degree in Economics at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario in 1985, and his Chartered Insurance Professional’s designation in 1996.

Robert has relocated back “home” to Kingston with his wife, Jeanette, along with their son, Luke who is attending Queen’s University.
