Law Clerk

Danielle (Dani) Howatson graduated in 1999 from the legal assistant program at Sir Sandford Fleming College, with Honours.  She continued her education with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario to obtain her law clerk designation.

Dani was born and raised in a small town, Campbellford, Ontario.  Dani spent the majority of her lengthy legal career working in Northumberland and Hastings County gaining knowledge and insight into the world of personal injury.  In 2010, she moved to Nova Scotia with her family.  Dani returned to Ontario in 2012 when her husband was stationed at CFB Petawawa. When she first moved to the Ottawa Valley, she took a position in local government, first with the County of Renfrew and then with the Township of Whitewater Region, in senior administrative rolls.   Dani eventually found her way back to personal injury law after accepting a position with Kelly + Kelly Lawyers in Pembroke where she stayed for 8 years until Kelly + Kelly’s civil practice joined Bergeron Clifford on August 1, 2023.

Dani is committed to her clients and their families and helping them through the arduous process of litigation.  She is adept at managing their needs and expectations in a respectful and supportive way.

Dani’s first love is her family. Any spare time she has is spent with them boating, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking or snowshoeing.  She loves to volunteer when she can with organizations such as the Children’s Aid Society, Greenwood Family Resource Centre and St. Timothy’s Church. She coached minor soccer and has been on several social committees. If there is any time left in the day, she’ll be at the gym or out for a run.
