Each year, the Law Society of Ontario awards the Law Society Medal to selected lawyers who have made a significant contribution to the profession. Bergeron Clifford would like to congratulate our long-time friend and advocate Eldon Horner for being recognised for his outstanding career achievements and contributions to communities by the Law Society of Ontario.

Originally struck in 1985, the Law Society Medal has been awarded to more than 100 lawyers in recognition of distinguished service.

Called to the Bar in 1995, Eldon Horner has been a long-time passionate advocate of solicitor issues across the province. He has devoted his time to the betterment of the profession through his work with his local law association and the Federation of Ontario Law Associations. Additionally, he has demonstrated outstanding dedication to his local community of South Dundas.

Eldon is the past Chair of the Federation of Ontario Law Associations (www.fola.ca) which represents the interests of approximately 12,000 lawyers across Ontario in private practice.

Outside of work Eldon has coached both hockey and baseball. He has served on the Board of the Winchester Hospital, Dundas Manor and as a Champlain Grant review appointee for the Ontario Trillium Foundation. He is the former President of the Iroquois Golf Club, and Past President of the SDG County Law Association.

We thank Eldon for his involvement with communities and peers like us. We’re looking forward to his felicitation at the Law Society Awards Ceremony which will be held virtually, on May 26, 2021.
