Defective Products

A defective product can be anything that you buy that causes you injury or loss. We often hear about defective cars, toys and medication, but product liability cases can also include clothing, furniture, sports equipment and even failures in service and maintenance.

It can be difficult to determine the source of a product failure and get compensation. You may be told that there's nothing to be done, that your injury may not have been caused by the failure, or that your insurance doesn't cover whatever damage has happened. Guilty parties may try to pass on the blame to somebody else — vendors may blame manufacturers, and vice versa.

Putting Together A Case

At Bergeron Clifford LLP, our lawyers can figure out who is at fault, and who can be held liable for the damages you have suffered. This may include:

  • The designer
  • The suppliers of defective materials or parts
  • The manufacturer
  • The vendor who sold the product
  • Inspectors and testing organizations
  • Maintenance and repair workers

We can also help you with your insurance company, if it claims that your damage or injury is not covered by your policy. We will examine your policy, negotiate and, if necessary, litigate on your behalf.
